In Memory of Captain Pinsler
Captain was a therapy dog at Namasport Mental Health studio.
He was a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier who began his work within his first year of life and served as a grounding presence at Namasport since day one. His calm, steady energy helped clients feel safe, seen, and supported — without a single word exchanged.
If you walked into a Namasport studio in our early years, there’s a good chance you were greeted by Captain — body buzzing with excitement, ready to welcome you exactly as you were. Whether he was resting at your feet during session, letting out a deep sigh in the middle of a meditation, or curling up beside you during a group experience, Captain had a way of softening the space and anchoring the moment.
For those who worked closely with our founder, Stephanie, knowing Captain was part of the experience — he was the heart of the room and the quiet presence that brought comfort when words weren’t enough.
Though he may not be with us in the same way now, his spirit lives on in the stillness between breaths, in the exhale of release, and in the countless healing moments he helped create.
Here’s to Captain — the unsung hero of our first decade and a forever part of Namasport’s story.
